The Rebar is going in fast!

The rebar crew finally took a lunch break! Brandon, Bart, and Eric were a great help! Jason and I would have still been trying to figure out what we were doing!
My shop bay is complete! It looks so good I could almost cry! Tears of JOY!
Jason had his dad and Phil make "chain pots" to put in the floor for pulling on things...must just be a guy thing! LOL
Jason's bay is complete! Hoist and all! Wow! What a difference this weekend has made! We are really making some progress we can see!
The entire building is done before dark! It's about time to sit back and relax! Or just make our game plan for the last day we have before...CONCRETE! YEPEE!
Jason inspects the work! We are both beside ourselves about the progress this weekend so far!

We Marked out our walls!

We rolled out the last run of plastic! One more check mark on the list of to do's! It's done!
Then we marked out our walls with duct tape! Hopefully, this will help guide us when we put down the pex for the heated floor!
This is the bathroom! The wall to the right is the back of the kitchen and the front wall of the bathroom. Down the front side is where the door to the bathroom will go and then the edge of the closet wall! It's starting to look REAL!
This is the hallway! The line to the left is the bedroom wall!
And this is the utility room! All of the pex will come up inside this room to go to the hot water heater, boiler, etc!
 Rebar is going down fast!
Got the Living quarters done before lunch! Wow! We can't believe how fast it is coming along!

So we started on the next phase!

The plastic is down in the living quarters! Alvin is starting to fit and cut the foam board! Progress is happening!
The "Expert" foam cutter! Alvin helped a bunch!
We even recruited Katelyn (Jason's Neice) to help!
By the end of Saturday we had all of the living quarters done and about half of the shop! What an accomplishment!
Jason is pleased with the progress! Now late to bed early to rise! Only 2 days left of the holiday weekend and alot of work left!

Getting Excited for a Big Holiday Weekend!

So we looked like we were crazy people driving down the highway but we made it without any trouble! All of our foam insulation is ready!

The guys completed filling in around the hoist and the front drain boxes!
Alvin and Jason are fighting over the "little" shovel! lol!!! They worked hard and finally got a flat floor inside the entire shop! We are finally ready to start putting down the floor!

Sunday and the last Dig..We think!?!

We dug the last of the drain pits for the back area (wash bay)!
The backhoe came in handy once again! Made easier work of it...but still had to dig a bunch by hand!
It's looking good! Jason is going to finish it this afternoon..I have a birthday party to attend..can't miss a 2nd Birthday..
Jason also got the hoist plumbed..now just have to get the concrete crew out to grade the floors and hope we are right on with the height of the hoist! It's too heavy to move too much!
One thing that survived the storm! The iris bulbs that I rescued last fall from another area of the property! Trust me..they look much better than the garden :(

Then comes the STORM!

As Saturday evening falls..we are relaxing and weeding the garden..then...down comes the rain! The winds picked up and the tornado sirens go off in town! Great..I'm getting an idea what Dorothy and Toto felt like...
As the hail starts to fall..Jason gets ready with his hard hat! He is ready for action!
The Northeast corner of the shop is now a pond!
And the field is beginning to dissapear under water!
The first of the hail! Hard hat went out to get what he thought was a big piece! The noise was deafening and the tornado sirens are going off again in town! At least we can hear them!
Then it calmed for a bit..this is what came off of the living quarter (west) side of the building! YES...it is hail!
Then it started again..and just got bigger!
The water started in under the ground on the living quarter side. The rain was getting trapped toward the building by the form boards that have been placed for the concrete!
And the last of the holes filled in...
All the way to the top by the end of the storm!

Finally Filling all the holes!

We finally got almost all the holes filled in! Starting to look like a flat floor again!
The main trench down the side between the shop on the left and living quarters on the right..finally filled in!
You can actually walk through the living quarters without watching your step for trenches! A long Saturday of work..but it's done!

The last big dig...we hope!

After digging from the building to the edge of the covered porch by hand..Jason gets the backhoe and digs the rest of the way to the well!
This moves much faster than trying to dig a 3 foot deep trench with a spade!
But Stacie managed to get most of it done!
And...the last trench is dug! We hope! Now all we have to do is put the waterline in place and get Jason convinced to climb down in the well to hook it up! Creepy..snakes and all!

And still digging!

Jason packs in the dirt from the water line!
and cleans up my garage opening to the building!
Dragging the dirt around and packing it with the tractor! How does so much dirt come out of a hole and when it's filled back..why is so much left!?!

We took a minute to get our checklist done for the day! By the end of the day Sunday we accomplished 6 of 9! Not too bad!

Now for the Water line! The just in case!

We decided to put in a water line just in case we ever hook up to rural water!
It has to be 3 foot deep so we use the backhoe!
And Jason digs a big deep trench out the front door!
Wow that's alot of dirt! Glad we didn't try that by hand!
Stacie's garage door is full of dirt! Will we ever stop digging?
Jason finished measuring to the end of the line and lays the pex tubing in the bottom!
